Stormboarding Kitestorm 2007: February 24-25
Get ready for the Fourth annual Stormboarding Kitestorm. We are psyched and will be posting all details about the event as they develop. This year we will feature clinics, kite demos, speed contests, photo contests, loads of prizes and fun for all.
Accommodation: The Best Western/Windjammer Inn is once again stepping up with an incredible rate for Kitestorm riders: $69.99/night. Call them at 800-371-1125 and tell reservations you are coming for the Kitestorm. This rate will be guaranteed until January 24, 2007. Last year the hotel filled up around 1 week before the event. This is a clean, straight up hotel with pool, free cold breakfast, cookies laid out before bed. 15 minutes exactly from the Kitestorm site and 3 minutes to downtown Burlington and the After-Party.

Kitestorm Schedule, Clinics and Contests
Kitestorm Schedule and Contests
NEW TIMES: The event will run both Saturday and Sunday from 9am - 3pm.
Intro to Snowkite and First Ride Clinics: PRE-REGISTRATION REQUIRED. The clinics are stillFREE but we are asking for pre-registration so we have an idea of numbers. This free clinic gives you a taste of the sport of snowkiting and will run you through learning how to fly a trainer kite and then get your first ride. This is not a full lesson but a taste will make you eligible for a discounted follow-up lesson with Stormboarding after the Kitestorm.
Clinic times are the same for Saturday and Sunday and begin promptly at 9:30 and 12. To register, please e-mail Rachael at the e-mail address at the bottom of this page with the date and time that you would like to get a taste of this great sport.
Jump clinic times TBA
Speed Contest: We will run a weekend-long speed contest with loads of huge prizes and multiple categories. Contest starts at 9am Saturday and ends at 2:30 Sunday with prizes at 2:45.
Snowkite Races: If conditions allow, we will run a long distance race or drag races open to all. Details will come as we get much closer to the event and know the ice condition but it will either be a mass start race of several miles or heats of riders on the same kites in elimination rounds.
Photo Contest: We were incredibly impressed with the photos from last year's contest and will carry it on with prizes going out to the top 3 in the following categories: Action, Event Vibe and Happy People having Fun. You can see last year's winners by clicking on the Kitestorm 2006 link at the top of this page and scrolling down (they follow the report). Photographers can pick up blank CDs at registration.
