Yeah for the whirlybird... it would not be Kitestorm without this colorful kite spiiner and family on the ice.
Sometimes this is what doing race committee is like. Luckily, the wind did come in that afternoon.

Kitestorm Partners

Without the following, the event would not be the same. We encourage everyone who won prizes, raced, watched and had fun to tell our partners that you appreciate their support as much as we do...

HQ Kites: In addition to showing up with a van ready to explode with gear, the HQ team set up an excellent and busy demo area, helped dozens and dozens of kiters check out their great foils and donated a Montana 9.5 snowkite for the winner of our racing. Stormboarding uses HQ kites throughout our school both winter and summer and think the Rush Pro 350 and Apex 7.5 are 2 of the best flying deals around.

After an absence, we were thrilled to have Peter Lynn Kiteboarding back on the ice. This year Aaron and Seth trekked from Minnesota to help riders learn the smooth, stable power of the Peter Lynn kites with a full range of Chargers. Chris Krug on a Charger 19 won the racing this year and lots of riders won some sweet Peter Lynn beanies.

Slingshot is our primary inflatable supplier. Last year many students got their first rides on the lovely Rev 15 and we are looking forward to the RPM and Key this coming year. This Kitestorm we were grateful to be able to recognize the fastest snowboarder in the races with a Slingshot T3 7m package won by Gary Kjelleren.

We would also like to thank:

Best Western Windjammer Inn
: for incredible hospitality and a great, fun, filling and delicious dinner and party Saturday night

Dakine: For making such excellent gear and sending us some of it to give to lucky racers

Mt. Gay Rum: For the box of goodies - nearly everyone who came to the dinner walked away with a prize

Windy Island Designs: For the gorgeous sea-inspired necklaces. We're sure they are lucky with magic powers (mine brought wind for Sunday, I am sure) and so cool and unusual. www.windyislanddesigns.com or www.seabling.com

Curtis Savard Photography:  Need a great shot of yourself? It is likely Curtis got one. He was out all day Saturday snapping some incredible portraits of the faces of Kitestorm as well as some action shots. See his blog or site or contact him directly to purchase a great photo from the event or just to check out Saturday through his talented eyes.

Wally's Place: For being on site and helping our riders stay nourished with delicious Vermont Brownies, soup (I heard was amazing) and burgers/dogs +++.

Rhino Foods: For SEVEN years of ridiculously delicious chocolate chip cookies. I do not think it would really be Kitestorm without red buckets full of huge, incredible Rhino cookies.
