Endorsements

With the shutting down of Stormboarding's operations comes the end of our speed ranking list and contest. We would like to thank all of you who participated and sent in your speeds and photos as well as our generous partners who supplied some excellent prizes!
This is a worldwide contest for snowkiters. Just put a GPS in your pocket and ride. At the end of the day check and see what your high speed was, snap a digital photo or download the file and send it to us you never know, a great prize may end up on your doorstep a few days later. Read on for the contest rules. You can check out the last few years worth of speediness by holding your cursor over Speed Ranking to the left and choosing a year. We started back in 2004.

The contest runs from November 15, 2010 through April 1, 2011.

Ride safe. Ride fast.

Ahhh, not so much about speed but Tom Reynold's shot at Strawberry, UT does make even slower kiting look amazing.
Chris Miller shows that wide open space in any form (his was snowcovered at the time) will work for speed sessions.
Bryce Johnson's track showing nice speed passes to get his personal best right at the end of March. Each run was up there and the data is consistent.
Garrett Sorensen's early season session in Manitoba, Canada. Ahhhhhh.

Gaining speed: the anatomy of a session. This is from Petri's GPS showing his multiple runs over 50mph this early season. We love being able to see rider's speeds and tracks.
Brian Schenck had the fastest run this past week on his snowboard and 2011 Frenzy 9. Sounds like there is no lack of snow in Utah this December.
Paul Lawrence, dedicated Kitestorm attendee and New England ice-buggy rider, showing his early season buggy speed.
Speed on ice: Above is Gary Kjelleren showing us that black ice and snowboards CAN mix and left is Bob Randolph going really, really fast on a small lake in Montana.
