Stormboarding is one of the first and longest-running certified and insured snowkiting schools in the US and the only kitesurfing/windsurfing school in Vermont/Upstate NY. We have a variety of activities, events and gear throughout the year.
Never kited or windsurfed, want to improve? Check out our Lessons page for details about getting going with the great sports of kiteboarding and windsurfing. We use all new and modern gear with state-of-the art teaching methods. Kitesurfing lessons happen in 2 parts: ground school followed by the water lesson (not necessarily on the same day) and for those wanting to windsurf, we will have you sailing on your own within a 2 hour intro lesson.
Need gear? We are all ready with excellent gear to help you maximize your time on the snow or water with kite gear from Peter Lynn, Ozone, HQ, Slingshot, Litewave and Dakine, stand up paddle gear from Oxbow and Bic and windsurfing gear from Chinook, Starboard, Bic, Gaastra, Aerotech, Exocet and Fiberspar.
We aim to help you make a gear decision that will give you the most fun in a way that works with your style and time. For used gear, our goal is to turn over school gear frequently giving you a chance to save some money on lightly used equipment while keeping our students on virtually new gear all the time. Like a little challenge? The Stormboarding Snowkite Speed Ranking is a world-wide contest open to snowkiters of every ability and anywhere in the snowkiting world. Anyone with a GPS can get in on the action and win excellent prizes. Check out the rules, details and the incredible speeds on the Speed Ranking page. This will run through April with the final announcement made May 4th.
