Offshore kite, surf and stand up paddleboard expeditions from coastal New England and snowkiting on Lake Champlain 802.578-6120
Stand Up Paddleboarding
Stormboarding is very excited to include stand up paddleboarding (SUP) to our line of equipment. This one does not require wind at all - the glassy days are lovely and the windy days let you have a go at surfing the waves. It can be a relaxing way to explore the lake, but is also and excellent head to toe workout with emphasis on core strength and stability.
It is very easy to learn. It takes a little bit to get used to the balance and then you are off. The equipment is very versatile: enjoy it on the lakes and rivers of Champlain and then head for the waves of the coast and you have a longboard for surfing. Stormboarding sells boards in different sizes and adjustable paddles to accommodate different sized people. Add sunglasses, sunscreen and a PFD and you are ready to go for a great new workout and excellent way to enjoy the water.
Need lessons, looking for a unique and fun group outing or just want to rent a board on your own schedule? We have handed that part over to the Lake Champlain Community Sailing Center. Their great location on the Burlington Waterfront (Moran Station), long open hours and great instructors will be able to help you out from spring-fall. Call them at 802-864-2499, check them out at www.communitysailingcenter.org or stop by 1 Lake Street (north end of waterfront next to Moran Station).
Ready for a board? Stormboarding is ready with the line of Oxbow, Bic, Starboard and Kona boards for sale. We have a variety of board sizes and styles and a variety of paddle options from aluminum to carbon fiber.

Stand Up Paddleboarding and Vermonters in the New York Times
We are very proud of Burlington SUP'ers Sarah Tuff Dunn and Russ Scully for taking stand up paddleboarding to a big audience - the New York Times. Sarah, who is a local stand up paddler (and great writer) penned the article based on Russ's report. Russ is the owner of The Spot on Shelburne Road (go there for breakfast and lunch) and a kiter, surfer, windsurfer, sailor and now stand up paddler.
